Milana Aleksandrovna Vayntrub (American actress and comedian, as well as activist) is a comedian. Born in the Soviet Union to Jewish parents She began her career as a child performer shortly after immigrating to the United States. She gained notoriety for her roles in AT&T commercials on TV as salesperson Lily Adams from 2013 to 2016 and , since then, until in 2020. Her commercial appearances were not her only activity she was involved in. She also appeared on the Yahoo! Screen science fiction show Other Space (2015) and was a regular on the NBC drama This Is Us (2016-2017). Vayntrub was initially cast as the character Squirrel Girls in Marvel Rising's pilot that was never aired for New Warriors in 2018, was voiced in that role since. Vayntrub is an Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic (USSR) native, and also an American Jew. Her parents and her left antisemitism at just two years old. They moved to the U.S. with their children. The financial struggles of her family caused her to be a part of Mattel Barbie commercials from the age of five. Vayntrub briefly attended Beverly Hills High School. Following her sophomore year, she quit and obtained a GED. She continued to get the Bachelor of Arts Communication degree from the University of California San Diego. With the Upright Citizens Brigade she studied improv comedy.
